Welcome to the Knights of Columbus - Council 1333

"Faith in Action" and "Finding Balance" - those two phrases will be recurring themes as we continue through the year in our Council. We are blessed with an active, large council with a tremendous history, which we recently celebrated with our Centennial in 2008. We are committed to respect that history and continue its success.
During summer planning sessions with our new Officers, we spent a lot of time discussing who we are, how we are perceived, and how we want to be recognized. We acknowledged the need to be better at celebrating and rallying around the significant service work that we perform – our Faith in Action. As you will see within this newsletter, we have started the fraternal year with a number of events that demonstrate that Action.
To be successful as a Council and as individuals, we also recognized the need to help each other find the right balance.
The right balance of service work and social activities within the Council; the right balance of participation amongst more members so as not to overburden a committed few; the right personal balance of our time with our families, our work, and our other commitments, including the Knights; the right balance in the amount of service projects we take on as a Council and who they benefit. The "right balance" differs for each Council and for each individual. Finding it for our Council depends on each of you - our members. As we approach 2010, I would welcome and appreciate your ideas, suggestions, and involvement as we define that balance for Council 1333.
God Bless,
Jim Hennessy, Grand Knight
